CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION

ZIMBABWE is currently upscaling climate change mitigating measures. After the worst outcomes of climate change, like the Cyclone Idai (2019) and Ana (2022) which destroyed infrastructure in Manicaland and Masvingo provinces, it has been paramount for climate change adaptation and mitigation to be key agenda for national development.

The country is already prone to droughts and erratic rainfall, which have become even more recurrent over the last two decades. Adaptation measures to address climate change impacts are thus critical to reduce impact in key economic sectors such as agriculture.
